The award came completely out of the blue. There I was Monday morning, finishing off my ‘Wild About Beauty’ review post, when all of a sudden my Samsung tablet, which was sat next to me, started frantically bleeping, alerting me to a load Twitter messages.
I was actually in two minds whether to write this post as I feel a little uncomfortable talking about an accolade. But naturally I am thrilled and also it gives me an opportunity to congratulate the other winners: Hollie Burgess, the overall winner who blogs at Pretty Big Butterflies here and joint runner-up with me Vicki Brown, who blogs at Vicki’s Beauty here.
As part of my award, I get to be an official guest blogger for the show’s organiser at next year’s event, which takes place 16-17 May 2015. I can’t wait!
I spent a terrific day back in May at the Anti-Ageing Show, sampling latest treatments and checking out the new health and beauty products being showcased. A particular highlight was my mini facial with celebrity facialist Su-Man.
I also got to meet other bloggers as well as industry contacts who previously I’d only spoken to on the phone or via email – nothing beats face-to-face conversation. This presented a photo op with the lovely Antonia Mariconda (top photo, right), cosmedic coach and founder of #safetyinbeauty, a praiseworthy campaign aiming to stamp out malpractice in the industry. It is currently seeking charitable status. Check it out here.

The next Anti-Ageing Health & Beauty Show takes place in Manchester, 8-9 November. More info here.
